We are J
Let's take a moment to get to know us. After all, we might be in charge of creating something timeless for your family that will be around for a very very long time. Like, after you and I are long gone; that kind of
We love creating portraits for ourselves. Especially marking special moments such as this one to the right. This is our project we work on in our spare time when we aren't working. She's a hundred and thirty-seven year old farmhouse and we love every dirty filthy plaster-covered inch of her. We've discovered newspapers shoved into walls, drawings all over planks that were buried under plaster and lath and best yet are the names we found! A bit of fun history...our house was home to a young lady who was a bridesmaid in the wedding for JC Nichols in 1905.
I moved for this man in 2013. Not just moved across town, no, we are talking sell my portrait studio, sell the only home my daughter has known her whole life and move halfway across the country to where he's lived his whole life. And I'd do it again. Sorry, Seattle...you coulda let in a little sunshine occasionally...
We make an amazing team and yes, we work together. Some of you out there probably couldn't fathom spending as much time together as we do. :) He's terrific at getting the best possible quality of light to illuminate portraits and I have a great time meeting everyone and arranging our groups. He's the finger-painter to my type A systems. He's the handyman to my daydreaming "What if we built this...".
We have love affairs with light. Check out the family portraits we create...you'll notice a theme to our work. Often, it's all about the beautiful illumination we create to highlight families and make them sparkle within the big bold landscapes that we love to include.
Feel free to come by our studio and check things out. There is nothing quite like seeing big gorgeous pieces of art displayed on canvas and realizing that it could be you with your family.
...and sometimes you don't know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
But sometimes you have to put the energy and effort into making it happen so it can become a memory you can enjoy over and over throughout the years.
